Residency at the Banff Center

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be doing a Songwriter residency at the Banff Center for the Arts in Alberta this March. Three weeks in the Canadian Rockies writing songs – sounds like a recipe for… something! Hopefully something good 🙂

Anyway, I’m very appreciative for the opportunity and looking forward to the experience. I’ll be sure to post some pics so check back in with me here or on the social.

Write on!

Resident Alien album “The Only Constant Is Change” finally available on-line.

I’m pleased to announce that after several years of writing and producing, my first release as The Resident Alien entitled “The Only Constant Is Change” is now available on Bandcamp. Along with the digital release, I’ve printed up 100 physical copies of the CD. This was partly funded by the crowdfunding campaign I did in the fall of 2015 and I would like to thank everyone again for their donation! You guys are great and, hopefully, if you requested a copy of the CD it has arrived by now.

The Only Constant Is Change

If you didn’t buy an advanced copy and liked the music or want to support me, please consider buying a copy now! The suggested price is $7 CAD but you can always donate more if you are feeling flush and generous. With the purchase you get all the music and all the album artwork. It all helps to recoup the costs of manufacturing and releasing the project. It’s been a labor of love but labor nonetheless.

I’m in the process of putting together a live show incorporating the music. I’m also looking to get the album reviewed and played as much as possible, so if anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear them.

Finally, if you haven’t liked the project yet on Facebook or Twitter, please consider doing it. It’s a little gesture that actually helps us out a lot because people in the biz love to see BIG numbers!

Thanks again for listening and I hope you have a happy summer.

Welcome to a Brand New Year

2016 is here. 2015 was a good year and now it’s time to move on BUT… not before a quick recap of 2015’s highlights:

In 2015 I did a pre-release of my first EDM project and crowdfunding campaign as The Resident Alien. I pre-released the 8 songs of ambient electronic music on the RA website and Soundcloud over an 8 week period and raised funds for the next steps of the release. It was a largely successful and very informative experiment and initial reviews of the album, called The Only Constant Is Change, were very positive. The album should be available for purchase online and beyond in early 2016.

My singer-songwriter project The Ever After took a bit of a backseat while I worked on finishing and releasing The Resident Alien album.  That being said, we still managed to play a lot of shows throughout 2015 including a showcase at the St James Theater in Old Montreal as part of the YES Montreal Art Expo. We also held residencies at the Brasserie Beaubien and Le Depanneur Cafe and played a triumphant show at Casa Del Popolo in September with Bound and Tethered and Scott Moffat (yes… that Moffat).

So what will 2016 bring? Well the official release of the first Resident Alien album will be taking place sometime in early 2016 along with a release party which is currently being organized. As well, The Ever After has a 3 song EP in the works which should be ready for release in the spring. Along with this we are looking to redistribute the first two albums with another distribution service, so they are currently unavailable but there should be some more info on that front soon.

Starting in December 2105,  TEA began another residency at Le Depanneur Cafe every Friday at 1pm. It will continue until March. On Jan 15th we are taking part in the KickDrum music festival, which is a great event focused on getting people out to see live music during the cold winter months.

Well that is what is organized for 2016 for the moment, but there are always new developments right around the corner so check back often to see what’s happening. Thanks for a great 2015 and looking forward to an even better 2016!
