It’s time for another video from the Cubist sessions and this one is an original composition – with vocals this time – entitled When You’re Gone.
I wrote this song at the Banff Center for the Arts and recorded it for an album I released as The Ever After in 2019 called Eh Voila! It’s a bittersweet ballad about missing someone special and it’s a song I’m quite partial to. I hope you enjoy it as well.
And if you want to hear the original you can do that here.
How’s that for a title? Two corny puns for the price of one. You’re welcome 😉
The next video from the Cubist Sessions is now available
I hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for more videos to come.

This past year and half have been challenging for pretty much everyone. Whether you were suffering from sickness, stress, fear, anxiety or any of the other myriad emotions that accompanied this pandemic, I’d say we all deserve a collective pat on the back for making it through this experience.
And hopefully we learned something from it all… I know I did.
One of the major challenges as a musician during this period was trying to keep up your chops while there was no gigging. For me the solution was to revisit some guitar pieces that I had been working on over the past couple of years. As I started practicing these pieces again I decided I would make use of the time I was spending on them by trying to record performances of them. What started as some simple home recordings then turned in to a full fledged “project”.
I enlisted the help of the talented videographer Liana Pare from Liana The Ghost Films. Having worked together on several other videos – including Tirage Au Sort (which has now received over 11,000 views on YouTube) – I knew she would do a really nice job. And that she did!
What came out of our collaboration was a series of six videos we are calling The Cubist Sessions. They are primarily guitar performances – with a little bit of singing – of several different styles of music including Classical, Finger Style, Bossa and a few original songs. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words ( so a video must be worth at least 10,000 right? ) so I will therefore let the videos do the talking but will simply close by saying I hope they are as enjoyable to watch as they were to make.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the videos (more on the way).
